SKIL Product Demo Videos

Product demo videos that blend feature education with polished lifestyle storytelling

Overview
The project included two product demo videos: one for a self-propelled mower and one for a push mower. Each video combined feature-driven messaging with polished lifestyle visuals to create engaging, retail-ready content for digital and social channels.

Problem
Many product demo videos in the outdoor power equipment category feel overly technical, generic, or visually uninspired. SKIL needed content that clearly communicated product benefits while maintaining a modern, approachable brand identity.

Impact
• Created visually engaging product demos that highlighted ease of use, maneuverability, and cordless convenience
• Helped translate technical product features into relatable consumer benefits
• Delivered flexible video assets suitable for digital, retail, and social placements
• Elevated the visual quality and consistency of the SKIL brand across video content

My Role
Art direction, storyboard development, production collaboration, and post-production oversight.

I developed storyboards and shot planning, guided wardrobe and prop styling, collaborated closely with production teams on set, and directed editors and colorists through post-production to ensure a polished final product aligned with the SKIL brand.

Process Highlights
• Developed storyboards and shot lists focused on real-world homeowner scenarios
• Collaborated with production teams to create clean, approachable environments and visual styling
• Directed wardrobe, props, and on-set details to support brand consistency
• Worked closely with editors and colorists to refine pacing, tone, and overall visual polish

What Makes It Different
Rather than relying solely on technical demonstrations, the videos focused on authentic usage moments that made the products feel intuitive and accessible. The creative approach emphasized clarity, energy, and lifestyle integration while still communicating key performance features.

Where It’s Going
The videos were developed as flexible marketing assets that can support future digital campaigns, retail placements, social content, and broader product launch initiatives across the SKIL ecosystem.
